Entering Publix in 1995

Norman’s connection with Publix began in 1995 when he joined the company as a front-service clerk in Aiken, South Carolina. In this first position, he learned the importance of customer service, teamwork, and paying attention to detail. Over time, he served in various hourly roles that helped him understand the daily operations of the store and the challenges associates face. These experiences laid the groundwork for his future leadership roles.

From Store Manager to District Manager

After years of steady dedication, Norman Badger of Florida was promoted to store manager in 2007. This role gave him full responsibility for one Publix location, where he managed budgets, supervised department leaders, and ensured the store maintained company standards. He valued creating a positive workplace for associates, understanding that a supportive environment helped employees and customers thrive.

In 2014, Norman’s career took another step forward when he became a District Manager. This position placed him in charge of several stores. His work involved ensuring financial health across locations, guiding store managers, and maintaining consistency in customer service. He was also responsible for carrying out company-wide strategies at the district level, balancing short-term needs with long-term goals.

Advancing to Regional Director

Norman continued to grow within the organization, and in 2017, he was promoted to Regional Director. This leadership role expanded his responsibilities to include multiple districts and a broader group of teams. He worked closely with executives on long-term planning, regional strategy, and growth opportunities. A key part of his work was developing future leaders, ensuring that Publix had strong teams ready to guide the company forward.

Corporate Leadership and Senior Vice President Role

This position involved leading cross-functional teams, building supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and launching new product lines. His role also included finding ways to make supply chains more efficient and ensuring product offerings matched customers' needs.

In 2024, Norman was promoted to Senior Vice President of Retail Operations, overseeing over 1,400 stores across Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. His responsibilities now include guiding regional and store leadership, meeting sales goals, and supporting employee growth while ensuring consistent customer service across all locations.
